On Wednesday, May 24th my Senior Role Models and myself volunteered to help at the Girls on the Run of Central Iowa 5K race. You can see my previous post about our volunteer activities here. In addition to helping with pre-race activities, I was also asked to photograph the racers at the finish line. My experience capturing the finish line photos was more captivating than I thought it would originally be. What happened when I brought that lens up to my eye and looked out at all the racers coming through the finish line was so touching and full of emotion! My heart was taken over by the hard-working, heart-filled, inspirational expressions I was able to capture of all the young girls, boys, parents, and coaches that participated in this race. As a parent myself, my heart was beating full of that excitement and pride you feel when your own child accomplishes something big. I am inspired by these young people and inspired by the parents and coaches who helped get them there. It is a reminder that anything is possible and any challenge can be conquered if you put your heart and mind to it. ❤
Thank you again to Girls on the Run of Central Iowa.
xoxo
