Today is a special day for the littlest of all my boys, the babiest of them all, my forever baby boy Ryan. Today he turns 3 years old. We all ran into Ryan’s room this morning yelling “HAPPY BIRTHDAY”! Ryan just laid in his crib (my forever baby) with a smile on his face, thumb in his mouth, blanket at his cheek and said: “I need to pee mommy” (he started his 3rd year off dry – yay!) When I asked my oldest son, what does Happy Birthday mean – he said “it means today is the day he was born; the day he came into this world”. I added, “Yes 3 years ago!” Andrew didn’t really seem to care that it was three years ago but for me all I could think about was that I can’t believe 3 years ago I was pregnant with my child and that he used to be this little baby inside my belly. And now he is this happy, jumpy, spirited little 3 year old…kid. It’s all starting to hit me that my husband and I are graduating from the “Baby Stage” of our lives that has lasted so long and consisted of: maternity clothes, bouncy chairs, swings, pacifiers, butt cream, diapers and more diapers, diaper wipes, baby food, sippy cups, tiny carseats, the baby bjorn, tiny shoes, tiny socks, tiny everything. Part of me is jumping up and down saying YIPPEE, the other half of me is still mourning the end of this era. Holy cow.
Anyway – enough deep thoughts. I decided that since my little baby doesn’t have a real baby book or album like son #1 has or son #2’s partial one, that I can at least give his last 3 years a spot on my BLOG! Being the crazy photog that I am, I have tons and tons of digital images of my son’s last 3 years but they just sit on my hard drive. 🙁 So without having to go through and pick and edit and comb through them in fine detail I decided to just open up a few folders and quickly pick out the ones that stood out to me, one or two from each year. PLEASE note that some of these photos are NOT EDITED….1) because I don’t have the time right now 2) because I am keeping it real for my son. 🙂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my baby. Ryan.
The nurse record his birth DATE wrong – she wrote the 28th, but trust me he was born on the 26th.
PEACE OUT!
Happy birthday, Ryan! (HOW are you 3 already?!) I will be coming over to turn the lens around on you and your gorgeous MOM!! ;)Love, love, love that shot of him on the bed. Sweetness.
