With senior season over and the holidays upon us I was anxious to get my camera back into my hands and missing downtown Des Moines. So I arranged with a couple of my seniors on my TSP Senior Team 22 to get together on a Friday night and do a shoot. I was totally on board with their idea of doing a night time shoot and lucky for us the temperature that evening was upper 50s almost 60 and no wind! It was a beautiful evening!

I captured some shots of the girls with an external flash but I was constantly drawn to the natural light surrounding us – from the street lights, holiday lights and lights from inside the buildings. While I don’t typically do a lot of night shooting, I still feel like I was able to do it in a way that still represents my style and look. I definitely would be up for shooting at night again – but maybe once it warms up a bit. 😉
