What I love about my lifestyle newborn photography sessions is the surprise. I usually show up with just my camera and lenses and maybe some favorite blankets, but most of the time it’s just me and my camera. I appreciate that couples let me come into their home especially right after having a baby. I know how stressful it can feel to think that your house has to be ready and perfect and clean. Well, truth be told – I don’t see any of that. When I walk into a newborn session I am looking at the light in the house and the structure – traditional, clean lines, modern, etc…it gives me an idea of what sort of photos I will capture along with the backgrounds. But lighting is the most important.
Then when I meet the baby, me and my camera are working together non-stop along with mom and dad. I usually have an idea of what sort of photos I want to capture but I let the baby also run the show. Sometimes I get babies who are asleep the whole time and other times I have babies who are awake and only take catnaps. In the end, what I capture is you and your baby and that’s the most important. The newborn days are when time flies at its fastest! So much is happening all at once and you’re still trying to keep up with just everyday life. Having a photographer come in to capture these sweet moments is so important and I wish I had done this when I had my babies…
Welcome William…
Thanks for visiting!
